The Varian Medical Systems Foundation makes grants, donations and gifts to non-profit organizations that provide information and services involving the prevention, detection and treatment of cancer. The foundation focuses on programs that address the role of radiation therapy in treating cancer.
Some of the programs funded by the foundation include:
Materials and events developed by non-profit organizations and patient advocacy groups to increase understanding of cancer and its treatments. This includes funding for web site development, printed materials, and other information programs.
Education for the medical community to learn about advanced technology for the treatment of cancer with radiation therapy.
Varian sponsors scholarship programs for students studying radiation therapy through organizations like the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT), the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) and the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).
The company matches employee gifts to educational institutions and non profit organizations and conducts an annual fundraising program for its employees.
