Proton Benefits
Proton therapy offers unique clinical advantages. As the proton travels, only a small amount of dose is delivered along its path - unlike conventional radiation treatment - and most of the dose can be delivered at a precise distance in tissue, called the "Bragg Peak."
- More healthy tissue can be spared
- Deep targets can receive a higher dose
Sparing healthy tissues and organs helps reduce the impact of side effects common in traditional photon therapy, and allows for treatment in difficult locations in the body.
