Brachytherapy | Benefits

Brachytherapy has been used to successfully treat a range of tumors, including prostate, cervical and breast cancer, at several cancer centers around the world. Tiny radiation implants placed in or near tumors are also delivering promising results for some patients who might otherwise not be treatable. Doctors are combining brachytherapy with organ preservation surgery and external-beam treatments for intraorbital tumors in adults suffering from tumors on the eye and advanced nasal sinus cancers, and report the result has been a high cure rate with preserved visual acuity.
